My home is traditional yet minimalist and relaxing until i get to my den. Although not overly done it's not simple. I have family pictures and accessories that have memories. My shelves were done professionally, not simple but tasteful. How do I know where to start with the rest of the room. It's hard to have perspective when it is your home. Alissa, I feel exactly the same way. We are two full-time working parents with two small kids, and right now we're paying someone to clean our house twice a month so we can spend extra time with our kids. I'm so ready to stop doing that and get rid of all the stuff so we can save time and money. My husband and I are both on board with the minimalist lifestyle, we just have to get started. I decided to start pursuing "minimizing" our house hold stuff because we are a family of four, 2 working parents and 2 young kids, and I was constantly frustrated that I felt like I had to choose between spending precious time with my kids or keeping up with housework. so I decided that instead of spending all my time cleaning up, I would just give away the stuff! so to speak....anyways, great blog!
