I too am inspired. My home is traditional yet minimalist and relaxing until i get to my den. Although not overly done it's not simple. I have family pictures and accessories that have memories. My shelves were done professionally, not simple but tasteful. How do I know where to start with the rest of the room. It's hard to have perspective when it is your home. Thanks for getting me started, and hopefully some help.

I found this blog through Zen Habits, and I love it! Alissa, I feel exactly the same way. We are two full-time working parents with two small kids, and right now we're paying someone to clean our house twice a month so we can spend extra time with our kids. I'm so ready to stop doing that and get rid of all the stuff so we can save time and money. My husband and I are both on board with the minimalist lifestyle, we just have to get started. Thanks for the inspiration!

I find it interesting that you could actually go out and spend lots of money and waste lots of resources on making over our house into a "minimalist" style, which for me would totally undermine the very principle! but, then, my husband and I are trying to approach life overall with more of a minimalist view, minimalist in the things we own, in the the things we buy, in the impact we have on our time and environment. that kind of stuff.

this is a great blog. so glad we found you through our pastor's blog, Fibonacci Faith. I decided to start pursuing "minimizing" our house hold stuff because we are a family of four, 2 working parents and 2 young kids, and I was constantly frustrated that I felt like I had to choose between spending precious time with my kids or keeping up with housework. so I decided that instead of spending all my time cleaning up, I would just give away the stuff! so to speak....anyways, great blog!
