I only recently came across your blog, and I'm loving it.
In my own life, gifts to my children are a source of on-going frustration to me. I'm finding it really difficult to get grandparents, etc. on board with the less-gifts, less-lavish (or less trash, in some cases) idea.

Love that grandfather! We have repeatedly over the last 10 years requested the same thing-college investment. But instead get useless toys that I end up returning to put the money in a fund for them. I wouldn't even mind a small toy in addition if it makes them feel better.
