The movie pointed out some painful things in our lives. Buy big and lots of stuff stores. People love the huge discount stores we have, we tend to pick up more items than we need while we are there. Then the level of obesity of the remaining population, the people not exercising and overeating to the point they could not move around by themselves.

So many levels of the movie pointed to a place we don't even want to think about going, yet we are on the way.

I think Wall-e was very minimalist. He was concentrated on finding life, while cleaning up the trash left behind. Kind of single-minded purpose, to me.

sorry that the connection in my mind was lost on the screen. it was intended to be a short, cute commentary on the reality that all of our possessions will one day rust, spoil, or end up on a garbage pile. and how that reality would influence our lives if we remembered it more often.

its commentary on the temporary nature of physical possessions was also meant to set up today's post on the staying power of faith, hope, and love.

sorry for the confusion.

Wall-e spent his time compacting trash but also collected a good bit of trash for his "home" as well. Not seeing the connection either.
