bakelite doorbell July 3, 2008 at 7:00 am: My minimal TV is a PVR box that connects to my computer so I can watch/record/playback cable TV on my computer screen. So, I don’t actually own a TV set.

Peter August 22, 2009 at 9:34 am: The Hummer of TVs. The only reason for a citizen to own one of these behemoths is to say ‘I’ve got more than you!’ It’s that kind of thinking that is killing our planet and thus ourselves.

As for a TV like this, I can sum it up in 1 word: obscene. I agree with Peter;
it is nothing but a status symbol. I’ll stick with my 32″ CRT that I found at
the dump 2 years ago. It’s still working perfectly! We don’t have cable either.
We just watch tapes and DVDs.
