does our decision to become minimalist disqualify me from ever owning this?

My minimal TV is a PVR box that connects to my computer so I can watch/record/playback cable TV on my computer screen. So, I don’t actually own a TV set.

The Hummer of TVs. The only reason for a citizen to own one of these behemoths is to say ‘I’ve got more than you!’ It’s that kind of thinking that is killing our planet and thus ourselves.

If you get rid of your couch and salon table, you’ll have plenty of room for one of these. You will be watching it from the floor, but hey.. can’t have it all ;)

Love your blog. I am in the process of parting company with a lot of things.
As for a TV like this, I can sum it up in 1 word: obscene. I agree with Peter;
it is nothing but a status symbol. I’ll stick with my 32″ CRT that I found at
the dump 2 years ago. It’s still working perfectly! We don’t have cable either.
We just watch tapes and DVDs.
