although i have several professional organizing friends, i have never hired one myself.  i am interested to know how many of you have hired a professional organizer.  and if you have, would you please tell us if you were happy with the outcome?

(this may be a great opportunity for my professional organizing readers to sell us on your profession).

I suspect it would be worth it to have a problem solver and neutral person help. But I have often wondered about what kind of cost is involved.

As a professional organizer myself, our job isn’t to come in and throw everything away on you but rather work with you to help you determine what it is you truly value and love and then help you devise some systems and storage solutions to incorporate those things in the space you have. Sometimes just having some fresh eyes looking at your space is all you need, others need a little more hand holding. Costs vary depending on these needs and your resolve to kick the chaos and clutter to the curb once and for all.

    Hope that helps!

I’m a professional organizer and feng shui practitioner. I find that removing clutter intentionally and with respect allows people to breathe deeply, many for the first time in years. I’ve observed that the removal of clutter is directly tied to the increase in life energy (Qi). Some of my clients get so energized after an organized session that they’re up for hours continuing the work with great gobs of energy and excitement. Organizing is much more than going to a container store and buying plastic boxes!

I have been an organizer all my life for family members, friends. I’m really good at it and enjoy it very much. I would like to know how to be a professional organizer. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
