Clutterfree is the very first app on the market to create a personalized, step-by-step roadmap to declutter your home.
I’ve spent the last 8 months working on it with a US-based team of developers and designers. We’ve equipped it with everything you need to declutter your home and life—all in the palm of your hand.
For the last decade, my passion has been to help people discover more life by owning fewer possessions. Excess possessions rob us of money, time, energy, and focus and they quickly become a burden and distraction. That is why more and more people, all around the world, are choosing to declutter their homes and lives.
That is why I built the app—to help people own less stuff and live a better life!
Clutterfree contains all I’ve learned over the last decade helping people own less through my blog, books, videos, and the Uncluttered Course. And then, to make it even more helpful, I pulled in experts from around the world to help you tackle even the most difficult areas in your home.
It is going to entirely change how people declutter their homes and lives.
Who Clutterfree Is For
My passion, from the very beginning, has been to help people who own too much realize that reality and begin to own less. That describes a large percentage of the 2 million monthly readers of Becoming Minimalist. And that is who I had in mind when designing the app.
*If you are just discovering the movement to own less and want to begin applying these principles in your home, Clutterfree is for you.
*If you want to own less but don’t know where to start, Clutterfree is for you.
*If you have been working to declutter your home and want extra help, Clutterfree is for you.
*If you find yourself motivated to start but quickly become frustrated or distracted in your progress, Clutterfree is for you.
*If you’re motivated by a personalized step-by-step roadmap or just love to check off lists, Clutterfree is for you.
*If you are living a minimalist life, but have a parent, friend, or family member who would benefit from owning less, Clutterfree is for them—and makes for a life-changing gift.
How It Works
When I was first approached about the idea of building an app, I took a look at the different decluttering apps currently on the market.
Surprisngly, there were very few. And those that were available offered simple, rigid steps: “Declutter candlesticks.” “Declutter napkins.”
There were no declutteirng apps that took into account an individual’s unique home, family, or trouble areas. But I have learned that taking into account all those different factors is essential to decluttering success. That is what makes Clutterfree so unique.
It is the first app on the market to create a personalized, step-by-step roadmap to declutter your home. After logging-in, users upload their unique home into the app, and the app creates a personalized room-by-room Clutterfree plan, just for you.
Additionally, the app allows you to track progress, unlock achievements, document donations, take photos, and discover daily motivation to keep focused.
The app also contains free Bonus Plans from experts all over the world to help you get through some of the most difficult areas in your home: Paper Organization 101, Teaching Kids to Declutter, Decluttering Books, Clutterfree Habits… with more and more Bonus Plans being added each week.
I’m proud of it. It is going to help so many people and honestly, it is going to change how people declutter their homes and lives. The connection between a person and their phone is an intimate connection, and now we’re able to deliver the most valuable insights directly to you.
The Clutterfree app is not free, but we do provide a free 7-day trial so you can see if it is helpful to you.
If you find it helpful, the monthly cost is $3.99 (USD) to use the app. Keep Clutterfree only as long as you need it. If you know you’ll need it for more than a few months, there is a discounted price available for longer subscriptions. The choice is yours.

Thank you

Will there be gift cards to give this as a year paid for someone?
joshua becker says
There is not a gift card specific to the Clutterfree App. But any iTunes / Google Play gift card will work for the app.

Hi, I got the email about the app and would truly love to have it. But I live in The Netherlands and the App Store says it’s not available for my region. Any idea if I can somehow get it, or when it will be available? I’ve just done your course and am motivated!! Thanks, Anita
joshua becker says
It will be available worldwide soon. We initially released to a limited number of regions (US, UK, Canada, Australia) to make sure things run smoothly before releasing worldwide.
Prescie Buencamino says
Hi Joshua. Is this app free for those that paid lifetime membership to webinar?
joshua becker says
No, the app is different than the Uncluttered Course.
Deborah says
Hello Joshua,
If you’d like to translate your app in French, I will be very pleased to do it. Please contact me if you want :)
Pirkko says
Not available in Europe (at least not in Finland)
joshua becker says
Not yet. We’ll be able to roll out worldwide soon, but need to make sure things are running smoothly in limited regions first.
Julia L Carey says
I tried to download the app and ended up with something else that messed up my apps and now I can’t get rid of it.
joshua becker says
What did you download Julia? Certainly not our Clutterfree app.
Anne M says
Can this be downloaded to a PC? My phone doesn’t have much memory, so I don’t have many apps on it.
joshua becker says
It is not available for PC at this time.

I looked it up and in the description of the app it said: “A premium subscription purchase will be applied to your iTunes account after a 7 day free trial.”
So if I download the app just to try it out/because I’m curious, will it automatically charge me even if I don’t use it past 7 days? How does one cancel if they don’t want to continue using it after the trial?
Based on your blog post I was hoping it would just deny access after 7 days unless I get the “in app purchase” to continue, but the description in the App store makes it sound like it’ll automatically charge me. I don’t like that.
joshua becker says
Yeah, that is an Apple-policy, not ours. There is no other way to set it up. You can cancel your subscription in Settings on iTunes.
Emma greenwood says
Hi
I ve tried to cancel the app during the free trial but it doesn’t show in my subscriptions to cancel it please can you help me? Emma
joshua becker says
You can use the app for 7 days without needing to select a subscription. There’s nothing to cancel if you didn’t confirm that you wanted to continue using the app. But you can always send an email to support@clutterfree.com and we can check for you.

I started using Clutterfree and I think it will be helpful to get to the next plateau of my minimalism journey. Is there a way to edit the lists in the rooms that don’t fit for me? If I just check off items, it inflates the amount of work done. Thank you.
joshua becker says
That’s great to hear. I think it’s going to help many and change how people declutter their homes.

Current issue for many now who hate clutter: Corona virus is pushing people to buy excess household and food items for months ahead ongoing. I am disgusted with all this and have too much stockpiled this month since shutdowns of businesses and group evens incl churches in most parts of the country now. Shelves are stripped in all the stores nationwide and people are pushed into over buying products and running store to store in their community.
