There’s more to life than buying stuff.
There are many wonderful people pursuing and promoting simplicity. Fortunately, some of them are gifted in communication and choose to encourage and inspire us with their words. I enjoy reading their unique perspective. I’m sure you will too.
So fix yourself a nice warm cup of coffee or tea on this beautiful weekend. Find a quiet moment. And enjoy some encouraging words about finding more simplicity in your life today.

I love that this site recognizes that we are not all in the same place at the same time. However we prescribe, initiate and manifest our desire for simplicity, it works. Warning, it can be addictive in the best way. Thank you all for your stories my friends
Hi Joshua, I love your inspiring weekend reads. I await the next (and every week) with enthusiasm….. no pressure!!! ?
I’ve been reading your newsletter for years. I love them. Great selection of testimonies. Keep up the good job. Greetings from France.
I loved the article about Jimmy Carter! What a simple life that seems so peaceful and full. Thank you for sharing.
I think he’s creepy.
Only “creepy” to people such as yourself who, I am certain, have never even MET the man and have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE as to what Mr. Carter is really like! You are MISSING THE ENTIRE POINT of the article. Your (un-necessary and unkind) comment speaks VOLUMES about your lack of decency, which is something that Mr. Carter strove to maintain as President – and that he continues to embody to this day. Wait… oh, right – just remembered…you wouldn’t know anything about that.
Why is there a link to a political article on todays email???
Often times we know a family that could use an extra hand. I had a neighbor who seemed to be struggling with small children. I would pack up toys/clothes/books and leave them on her porch. She never knew who it was from…but I know it helped ;)
Great reads as usual!
I’m trying to minimise my children’s things, my 10 year olds room is a lovely, simple, calm space. But some of the beautiful “young child” things belonging to my younger two are proving so very hard to part with. The wooden doll cot and beautiful wooden blocks, hand made cars and so forth. Not for them, but for me. As it marks an end to my parenting of really small children. I feel such a deep sense of loss and ache in my heart at the very thought of that season of my life being over. But the logical side of my knows I will enjoy “less stuff” to vacuum/clean around, and that my boys will enjoy cleaning up a simpler space. Alas logic and heart are not always on the same page.
Xx
Perhaps there are other young children in your family, cousins etc. Giving to them prolongs the life of these items in your family. Also your children, if they see these children get another go at playing with them.
Moving on is often difficult.
