My desire with each Weekend Reads is to provide you with articles and posts that encourage simplicity and minimalist living. Below, you will find links to blog posts and news stories that I hand-picked over the last couple weeks. I hope you find inspiration and practical help inside them.
But also, if you get a chance, share these posts with others via social media. With our efforts united, not only will each of us be inspired to own less and live more, but the life-giving message of minimalism will spread further and quicker, deeper and with greater effectiveness.
And that is my goal on Becoming Minimalist: to intentionally promote simplicity in a world that needs to hear it.

I really enjoyed the video What Makes a Home Beautiful & as a Cancer Survivor myself my heart goes out to your friend, Joshua.
I wish him all the luck in his Cancer Journey & know how important friends and family are through this.

What Makes A Beautiful Home is spot on. I think the last few years of reading your blog has helped me see so much clearer. Less is so much more. When I walk in bigger homes now I do tell the owners your house is beautiful and then I thank God it’s not mine. I’m adding your friend to my prayer list.

I just read the article “10 Simple Steps to get Started with Eco Minimalism” by Michael Ofei & want to thank you Michael for this well written & compassionate piece which speaks to me on a personal level. It is beneficial to be remind oneself that if you put in the effort on whatever level you can it is well worth it.
As a Vegetarian since the early 70’s & now Vegan who is also very passionate & concerned about my eco-footprint/eco-anxiety, it is always very reassuring to know that I am not one but many who are on this journey as well. I love how you gently point out to live by example as I have found it is a much better way to engage other people who may be at least a little curious with the possibility of making changes in their own lives.
I look forward as well to receiving more words of wisdom from you in my inbox.

Hi Joshua,
Just watched your video, What Makes a Home Beautiful…the content so eloquently and poignantly shared had me smiling throughout the video, as I agreed with your wise words. At the end, as you shared your friend’s words about his new home, my eyes filled with tears. You have both captured the wisdom and grace of downsizing…would that we all could do so while we still have time to enjoy the fruits of our downsizing labors.
May God continue to bless you and your friend and y’all’s families!
