“You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what’s burning inside you.” – Arthur Polotnik
I have many people to thank over the years for the growth of Becoming Minimalist. But I typically credit this post from Zen Habits on August 12, 2009 as being the first major breakthrough for this blog. His simple link at the bottom of the post brought hundreds of new readers. And I immediately began to understand some of the key principles behind growing a minimalist blog.
On a related note, I’ve been overwhelmingly impressed with the quality (and number) of new blogs dedicated to minimalism and simplicity that have been emerging online lately. And as one who is deeply motivated by a passion for the message of living with less, I couldn’t possibly be more excited. The more writers, the quicker the message spreads. Keep on writing and inspiring!
If I can play a small role in helping these writers introduce themselves, I’m all in. Here then, are just a few of the blogs that have popped up on my radar (and reader list) in the past several months. There is no doubt in my mind, you will enjoy them too.

I am also a follower of Slow Your Home blog because of the authors way of writing when it comes to simple living. It cannot be denied that Brooke always updates the readers and always do some experiments which makes the blog really interesting. I’m glad that I found your blog too. I left the hustle bustle business world and am now living in a cabin in the woods on Roan Mountain, Tennessee. Starting a blog a year ago, I have been sharing stories about the beautiful simplicity of my new life and the wonderful people who are my neighbors. Reading your information, I have a long way to go as a blogger; yet, writing is a cathartic exercise for me so I will continue to perfect my craft. Thank you for helping those of us who need you! Writing a blog has become an easy process to set up but the hard part remains how you connect with your readers. The blogs mentioned here achieve to connect with their readers well that’s why these blogs are being read by many. A problem arises when people start a blog to make money. Those bloggers don’t care about their readers but they care about the numbers, analytic reports, list subscribers etc. There are a lot of new minimalist blogs and I love to read their ideas but the most famous blogs still are on top of my reading list. Thank you for the inspiration and for keeping it real Josh.
