In July, I will be touring the East Coast, stopping in 6 cities, to celebrate and discuss my newest book, The Minimalist Home.
The book released in December—and this is my first opportunity to get out and hold events with the Becoming Minimalist Community. I look forward to meeting many of you. I’m also excited to have my family along with me for the tour.
Each of the events will provide opportunity for me to connect with you, share my heart behind the book, and answer your questions about anything Becoming Minimalist. There will also be plenty of time for conversation, photos, and signings.
Admission to many of the events is free. And each event will last 75-80 minutes.
Tour Dates.
July 01. Burlington, VT (tickets)
July 03. Boston, MA (tickets)
July 05. New York City, NY (tickets) *Book purchase required.
July 08. Charlotte, NC (tickets)
July 09. Charleston, SC (tickets)
July 15. Miami, FL (tickets)
While not required, your RSVP is helpful as we prepare for each event.
If you live out East, grab a friend and a ticket. We’re going to have a great time and I look forward to meeting many of you for the first time.

Sounds lovely. Hope I can make it work in the future.

What time is the NYC event? I can’t find anywhere that shares the timing and I have to work that day. Really hope I get a chance to see you in person! Also, would it be completely inappropriate to bring a 3.5 year old? TIA!
joshua becker says
The NYC event begins at 7pm. Interestingly, the time of the event shows when you bring up The Strand Bookstore website on a computer, but not on mobile. Thanks for asking. And sure, bring your child… all events are entirely family-friendly!

I hope your tour is filled with good memories and conversations! I appreciate your minimalist perspective in that you are a “rational minimalist.” -have read most of your books and like the others, this latest one does not disappoint! Maybe you’ll come to Detroit sometime??
joshua becker says
Detroit would be amazing! Thank you for the kind words. If the books have helped you in any way, I am happy.

Come see us in Omaha! ?
joshua becker says
I’ll be in Omaha just prior to the tour. But I’ll be visiting family, not holding any events… though I did consider it.

Hmmm…Virginia Beach is on the way down to NC! ;)

Baltimore or D.C. please. The city of Columbia, MD would be great!!!!!!
MSHU says
Bypassed again! Yes, DC/Baltimore please!
Ellen F says
Another vote for the DC area! Politics & Prose Bookstore or any of the Busboys & Poets locations would be great.
joshua becker says
I actually did pursue a few independent bookstores in the Baltimore/DC area. But I had some difficulty lining up a venue. By the time some of the other venues were booked, fitting in another event was going to be tight.

Agreed! Fellow vb resident here

Wish you were coming to Philly!
Kevin says
Will you be coming out west? I know you live in Arizona (we do, too), but just wondering if you plan to do things out here with it as well.
joshua becker says
I toured the West Coast when The More of Less came out. That’s why I’m heading east this time. At this point, I don’t have a tour of the west planned… or at least, not anything specifically related to the book.

We saw you when you were with the minimalists in Mesa AZ. Really enjoyed our time! Thanks for all you’ve done.
