Not every positive change in our lives needs to be a large one.
Sometimes drastic changes are helpful—quitting smoking, becoming minimalist, changing careers.
But sometimes, just a simple change has the power to improve our lives and send us down a new path.
Small changes require less planning—and can often be implemented right away.
With that in mind, I sat down and wrote out a list:

These 100 ways to get a better life for yourself are wonderful I would add a few more which are:
Never give up because when you do you won’t get the diamond a metaphor for whatever your goal is that you want to achieve in your life.
Know your why. Why do you want something, desire, need?
Never take anything for granted. You will realize this after you have lost it or it is gone whatever it is for you
When you have experienced traumatic experiences know that you are not alone as others have gone before you on this long road of the journey and overcame and stronger for it and more resilient than ever.
Always believe in the higher source as it is always by your side in good and bad times unlike people who betray and abandon you like trash. Remember someone’s trash is someone else’s treasure.

I have begun, little at a time. I filled 5 boxes of stuff last two days that have sat on my shelves for years. I have found that if I go through stuff separating “give to charity, sell, give to friends who have made a comment about something of mine that they liked, and out with the trash to somethings” I am feeling lighter already. Also, I found it helpful to go through things a second time on a second day helped me to part with even more. My home has been such a warm and cosy reflection of my art and life and I have loved them all, but now I know and want to remove many things that stand in my way of simplifying my life. I am 72 now and do not want my children to be distressed when I leave this place and they have to sort through all the things I have loved but they may not want.
I read your weekend reads and they always make me ponder over things and I find strength in knowing it can be done! Thank you for blazing a trail.

It’s so funny that I believe everyone goes through the decluttering stage. I’m in my 60s n think the same thing about leaving our kids with I know will end up being: throw everything out. That’s what my brother did when my mom sold her house. Too sad. I even hate to buy anything new but the other day I realized I’m putting myself in the grave already and I decided I still hv life to live. You’re right though i have been giving away a lot lately lol. I just lost my mom 2 weeks ago at 94 years old n we all went through her photos. Half of them we didn’t even know who they were. It took me 2 weeks to throw out the ones the 5 of us didn’t want. I ended up taking more of her photos yesterday and will put them in a book eventually…who knows what our kids will keep. Enjoy life is what I say, especially while we’re healthy. It’s definitely too short. Pickle ball is on my agenda for the spring. Why not! I’m still alive and healthy thank God.
