I understand the distraction that Facebook can be. Its constant stream of updates can move quickly from being helpful to the exact opposite.
However, I have found Facebook can be a valuable tool for encouraging simplicity. I have seen it be a wonderful resource for connecting and drawing inspiration from like-minded individuals who are seeking a life of minimalism and simplicity. And the encouragement can be available at a moment’s notice—whenever it is needed most.
With that in mind, if you’re looking to change your Facebook experience, here are 10 pages I follow dedicated to simplicity. Each is unique, thought-provoking, and encouraging.
10 Facebook Pages to Encourage Simplicity In Your Life
1. Becoming Minimalist. The images and posts on our Facebook page reach more than 10 million people every week. The community is active, engaged, and uplifting. If you aren’t a follower yet, I think you’ll enjoy it. Thank you to everyone who has shared it with friends.
2. Simplify. A powerful page offering a journey of inspiration to encourage others, and one that brings us that much closer to the joy and happiness we are searching for.
3. No Sidebar. Design a simple life and experience the happiness you deserve. Caitie Wiersma curates articles and images from a wide range of sources to offer daily inspiration.
4. Clutterfree. The Clutterfree App, which provides a customized and personalized roadmap for someone to declutter their unique home has a wonderful Facebook page filled with inspirational quotes and articles.
5. Simplify Magazine. Helping families focus on things that matter most.
6. Be More With Less. Inspiration from Courtney Carver and the minimalist fashion challenge Project 333. Discover what matters most. Simplicity is the way back to love.

9. The Life on Purpose Movement. Erica Layne has created a powerful movement for purposeful women, where she explores topics from self-care and happiness to simple living & purposeful parenting.
10. Joshua Becker. You can also follow my Author page on Facebook as well. I use it to keep people updated on different appearances and engagements and other places that I publish. It’s a bit broader than just minimalism. You’ll like it.

Minimalism has its roots in the obscure scripture passage found in Proverbs 30:8-9. It’s the Prayer of Agur and contains the secret for finding balance and purpose. In many ways, the opposite of The Prayer of Jabez.

Thank you! Great to know. :)

Thank you for this list!

As I look to cut back on the noise and focus on the important, Facebook has become the only social network I remain fully active on.
I’ve really enjoyed watching the No Sidebar project grow (it, you, and the Minimalists have been instrumental in the launch of my own project about living a deliberate life), so it’s nice to see their page recognized.
There’s a few new ones in this list, I’ll be checking them out for sure – thank you. :)

I severely limit my Facebook time so instead I googled for the main sites/blogs of each of these. In a world where communication comes at you 140 characters at a time, like FB memes or a twitter feed, I still like getting deeper into people’s insights through blog articles and books. In a way, that’s part of minimalism to me – cutting out the superficial and surface-only junk, and getting deeper into life (including my online life).
Anyway, thanks for the leads. Looking forward to some reading time.

Joshua, thank you so much for including Simplify & Pursue! Such a great list full of my personal favorites. You’re still such an inspiration after all these years. Becoming minimalist is still one of my favorite websites.

I like how these links open into a new tab. I wish your Weekend Links page did that too instead of opening “over” your site. Something to consider. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you for including us, Joshua. And I couldn’t agree more with your sentiment. Facebook is only a useless distraction if we make it so. When used intentionally, it can be an incredibly useful tool.
And thank you for turning us on to some pages that we hadn’t heard about. Angel and I are always looking for new sources of inspiration. :)

Or you could just delete Fakebook, stop giving Zuckerberg hits and claim the time back into your life…. or perhaps that’s too simple.

Lots of good info. I’m sure, but I don’t join social media. Friends had some bad experiences with F.B. Lots of minimalist sites, you tube, and info without joining F.B. Friends are on Linkin but they are professionals. I just finished my kitchen purge, drawers are tidy now. Ladies, have you decluttered handbags/purses lately? One gal I know has close to forty handbags, buys on amazon and outlet stores. Way too many, I like to keep it around six.
