My mother was also born in Aberdeen, SD (1921) and lived in a nearby village until she was 17 and went out of state to college. It is an interesting place we are in today with all the over abundance and advising from people like yourself as to how to reduce the over abundance. My middle-class family of 8 once lived in an 800 square foot house in the 50s when small houses for the middle class were common. My father (1922-1986) wasn’t much into stuff: His possessions likely never exceeded what could fit into 2 suitcases!
