The simplicity/minimalism movement is a beautiful community. And I enjoy any opportunity to promote writing that encourages people to live more by owning less.
So fix yourself a nice warm cup of coffee or tea. Find a quiet moment this weekend. And enjoy some encouraging words to inspire more simplicity in your life today.

Hi Joshua, thank you for writing this post!
I love Konmari and ‘Busy is not the point’ is a short but sharp reminder. No points for busy!
We are a Military Family who has been lugging objects around for 24 years now. This is our first assignment where we were done. Done with the dishes we got with the gold trim in Florida 20 years ago. Done with the vase that we got for the birth of our first daughter who is now 20. Done with the 2 shelves of mugs that we accumulated at every state park we passed along the way.
We have now given away thousands of dollars worth of stuff. Just skipped the stress of selling it all and donated it. This started months ago and, as Military people know full well, we did it all fast and furiously.
Today was the pinnacle of success for us when we wrapped up our $1000 TV and put it in the closet until we can find a buyer. We moved our beautiful couch around to face the open kitchen and dining room. And all headed out to the front yard where we spent the day playing ball and listening to Adventures in Odyssey. My 11 year old Son said many times, “I feel like I’m in Heaven.”
I wish I could say that we did this years ago, as we are in our 40s and have been living with clutter for far too long. But you know what? We weren’t ready. This is a Spiritual Journey. Sometimes it’s a slow journey with other things to learn along the way. To be able to do this together with Jesus and Family is absolutely sanctifying. And I am so thankful.
Love to you on your Journey. Katie

I have your book The More of Less on Audible & would be hard- put to resurrect the receipt. I sure would appreciate the 25% discount code you say is in thr back of the book so I can join your course that closes April 14. May I have the code? Thanks in advance!
Today I saw a “Good Housekeeping” popup that said I must ACCEPT their use of “cookies” to gather more info about me and target ads, or I could NOT ACESS your website. I am not willing to do this, so it is with great sadness that I will miss your e-mails and postings. I would welcome your contact if you could explain to me the benefits of adding even more cookies to what I am sure are already at work on my computer.
Set your computer not to allow pop-ups and not to allow 3rd party cookies. You do not have to accept. I am not seeing this pop up because I don’t allow it. If it’s on the screen, do not click accept.
You do not need to accept Good Housekeeping cookies in order to access my website, Becoming Minimalist.
psI did see the big block on the GH web site, but you do not need to accept. Instead, click on the other option for info and then click Decline. You will see this on a lot of sites and you can always decline.
I always read everything you post and anxiously wait for “weekend reads”. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge. God bless, always. :)
