Never underestimate the importance of removing stuff you don’t need.
Encouragement provides us with motivation to persevere. It invites us to dream dreams of significance for our lives. And it begs us to work diligently with optimism and promise.
Overcoming the pull of consumerism is a difficult challenge regardless of our stage in life. Simplicity requires encouragement. To that end, I hope you will find motivation in these articles below.
Each post was intentionally chosen to inspire simplicity in your life. For maximum effect, find a quiet moment this weekend and enjoy them with a fresh cup of coffee or tea.

Hi, Joshua,
Just finished Cheryl’s article (needs vs wants)–loved the very poignant insights.
Q. where were you all about 40 years ago ?? I could have REALLY used your wisdom starting in my twenties ! ?
Looking forward to reading the remaining articles.
Thank you to all for your much needed and greatly appreciated very wise insights– it’s NOT about the stuff ?
A blessed Resurrection Sunday to all.
p.s.
I have also been using minimalism in food shopping, and I love it! I am keeping my “inventory” of surplus food (just in case ?) to a minimum. Having had a mother who over-bought in every area, including food, this has been one TOUGH habit to break, but I am gaining victory week by week. Try it–you’ll love it !

I so look forward to these weekend reads! Thank you! I have been working towards a more minimal life for about a year now and I could list so many benefits but the hugest one for me has been the sense of peace and calm and overall genuine happiness I have gained!!! It’s so profound to me that I acquire so much in terms of peace, calm, happiness when I reduce or get rid of the “stuff”!
I clicked on the 3rd article (Good Housekeeping) and was overwhelmed by the clutter surrounding the article on the page! There were recipes at the top of the page, advertisements on the side of the page and, at the end of the (very good) article, adverts to buy stuff from John Lewis to put your stuff in. Having become used your soothing, clutter-free website, I found just trying to find the useful article amongst all the visual clutter caused me to become anxious. I couldn’t wait to exit- in essence decluttering that article
from my life!

Dear Joshua,
Your email newsletter is an assuring reminder to my life of small possessions.
I’ve been a so called minimalist for four decades of my entire adult life even without knowing that I am a minimalist.
Recently a dear friend asked me to help him out. I employed a gentlest possible approach, though, as a result he got a panic attack, and I feel very bad about that. He doesn’t want to relocate anything to another room, not to mention discarding a single item.
I’m lost.
I look forward to this email every weekend. I’m new to simplicity, but love the effects that it’s having on my life.
Thanks for sharing!! :) definitely going to check em out
happy easter
