I’m excited to introduce you to Celeste, your personal, virtual decluttering assistant—available to help you declutter and minimize 24/7.
Celeste is a brand-new tool created specifically for Becoming Minimalist. And free for you to use.
Celeste has been trained in the benefits of owning less and the Becoming Minimalist methods that have made this website so helpful and life-changing for so many people.
She can help in many ways.
For example, she can:
- create a specific decluttering plan for your home
- break large decluttering projects into smaller tasks
- help you think through difficult items to declutter
- offer suggestions on what to keep and what to remove
- provide quick decluttering projects that you haven’t considered
It is my hope that she will help you (and everyone else) own less, live more, and make the most of the one life you have to live!
Use Celeste to help you declutter right here, right now at https://www.becomingminimalist.com/celeste/
Give it a try. I think you’ll be impressed. And then share the tool with a friend or on social media.
*This is my first introduction of Celeste to the entire Becoming Minimalist Community. And I’d love your feedback and comments. I’ll be watching the comments closely to see how she was able to help, what creative uses you have discovered, and your ideas for improvement.
Celeste was created by Vincent Nguyen of Growth Ninja. If you would like a similar tool for your company, contact him directly.

I really enjoyed my first interaction with Celeste. Her responses were surprisingly quick, specific, non-judgmental and personal. 🙌🏼 She’s like the friendly, compassionate pro I need, on demand.
I’m looking forward to our next conversation, hoping it will get me moving in the right direction. Great name too. Thanks for providing this option Joshua and for offering it free. 👏🏼
Hmm, wonder if I could program her to initiate scheduled accountability check-ins? 😊

What a brilliant idea.

Wow – she has the greatest suggestions on where to start tackling a huge project, the kitchen. I love that I can ask her questions anytime of the day.

I believe that this help is very well done. The responses that I received back was very spot on. Celeste answers was not generalized at all. This is a good addition to put to use as I continue to declutter. I am very appreciative of this tool. As far as the name is concerned, I seen someone complain about the name. The name isn’t what this is about and people need to quit looking for things to complain about. I knew someone who name was Celeste and she was a brunette. A name is just a name. It is an ID that is all. Beside I think it is more of a French sounding name. Sorry, just felt like saying something about that. Very good service. Thank You

Normally love your work, but unfortunately I am sad and disappointed that your latest innovation – Celeste – has been gendered. It reinforces gendered stereotypes of women cleaning, sorting etc. Celeste is a virtual ‘assistant’ who has ‘been trained’ – once again underlining historical attitudes towards women as being in service to others in a subordinate role.
Celeste is also portrayed as white and blonde.
How about having a decluttering assistant which is not gendered and more inclusive? Using a name and imagery which could be male, female or non-binary (Jo, Sam, Ali etc.). Celeste, after all, is not a real person.
Celeste's Cheerleader says
If Celeste isn’t real, I’m not sure why the name/gender is a problem. Also, white, blonde, females are humans too and deserve representation, if we are going to actually care about those qualities in A.I.

Agree

Is it not portraying careing motherly guidence? Encouraging without dominance. Exactly the feminine trates to be admired and emulated not in the least derogatory.
Diggie says
Agreed, Julia! Thank you for your comment.

AMAZING! I have been following you and been a minimalist for over 6 years. Our house is pretty paired back but I thought I would ask about decluttering DVDs, not that we have many left. Great suggestions for the decluttering process. I could see this tool being very helpful, especially for people beginning their decluttering journey. Well done.
