“You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what’s burning inside you.” – Arthur Polotnik
I have many people to thank over the years for the growth of Becoming Minimalist. But I typically credit this post from Zen Habits on August 12, 2009 as being the first major breakthrough for this blog. His simple link at the bottom of the post brought hundreds of new readers. And I immediately began to understand some of the key principles behind growing a minimalist blog.
On a related note, I’ve been overwhelmingly impressed with the quality (and number) of new blogs dedicated to minimalism and simplicity that have been emerging online lately. And as one who is deeply motivated by a passion for the message of living with less, I couldn’t possibly be more excited. The more writers, the quicker the message spreads. Keep on writing and inspiring!
If I can play a small role in helping these writers introduce themselves, I’m all in. Here then, are just a few of the blogs that have popped up on my radar (and reader list) in the past several months. There is no doubt in my mind, you will enjoy them too.

Great writing to inspire.

Thank you for an awesome blog. I was inspired by your blog to start decluttering – with every stuff disposed, I feel lighter and more free.
I am also thinking of starting a new Christmas trend – keeping a cap on the gift amount per person. Just finished reading a book on that on Kindle – ‘The $20 Christmas’ about having a debt free Christmas. I am always stressed out near Christmas – with the number of gifts and the uncontrolled expenses. This year I want it to be different.

Hi Joshua,
I am really enjoying your posts. My journey to simplicity began a few years ago but intensified with a move from our home into an apartment half the size this year. I started a blog a few weeks ago and realized I’m part of a beautiful movement of minimalism that I knew nothing about!
I look forward to learning much more from you and the others you’ve listed in your post.
Thanks so much!

Great post! I am living a slow, celebratory life and am constantly hearing from people that they’re impressed that I have time for so much travel, that I find fun everywhere and in everything, and own almost nothing. Some of them are probably just saying that but many people are clearly clamoring for simplicity and keep themselves too busy to pursue it. I’m sharing this post on my blog. Thanks!

These blogs are all so amazing and so inspiring. I hope I can get to this point and that I can inspire others in their journeys to minimalism.

Hi, I’m a new blogger also trying to come through with a minimalist concept. I’m trying to do it in a more commercial way though. I believe that many people who are over-consuming in general, seem to think that people who live simply and with a minimal approach are a bunch of hippies with lack of style. I am trying to convince them otherwise though, by posting guides on how to put together a great basic (and affordable) wardrobe, where quality counts higher than quantity. Fashion can still be fun, without being a shopaholic! So far I only write in danish (since I am from Denmark), but if I start to get requests on writing in english, I will do so. My style is minimal and scandinavian – very/black white and classic.
Pay me a visit if you have a little spare time! Thanks.

I love this, and it is so true. The millions of blogs and Web sites that “curate” so well make it easy to buy mindlessly. I’m certainly not a minimalist yet, but starting the journey by putting a lot of thought into where I waste time, money and energy and the steps I need to take to reverse it! (Wrote about it here: http://www.cocobordeaux.com/2015/10/three-simple-ways-to-stop-wasting-money.html) Would love to hear more ideas on how writers and bloggers can apply minimalism to their work.
