“Practical and to the point. Half way through this book we began cleaning out our cars, then our dresser, and now our closets. Very motivating.” —Jane Mayer
Six years ago, we released Simplify: 7 Guiding Principles to Help Anyone Declutter Their Home and Life on the Amazon Kindle.
By the end of the day, it was the #1 Self-Help book on Amazon. The book has sold more than 200,000 copies and has changed countless lives. Even today, it continues to inspire more and more people to live a better life by owning fewer possessions.
Simplify provides the motivation and practical help to encourage others to simplify their home and declutter their possessions. It argues we find more life by owning less. We can discover more time, energy, and finances to pursue our greatest passions. And we begin to experience a greater sense of freedom.
Simplify retells our personal story of finding minimalism and the most important lessons we learned during the journey. It invites its readers to discover a new life-giving truth: There is more joy to be found in owning less than we can ever discover in pursuing more. And it will likely change the way you view possessions forever.
I am pleased to announce Amazon has selected the book as its Kindle Deal of the Day for Cyber Monday, 2017.
That means, today only, you can purchase our best-selling book, Simplify: 7 Guiding Principles to Help Anyone Declutter Their Home and Life for only $0.99. I think you will really enjoy it.
I bought the book, and have also read the other one. I am a person with 6 kids, teenagers and young adults. I am more motivated to have less clutter than I was before, after reading these books. Thankyou Joshua, for sharing your life and insights. Christina
Congratulations! I think this is just the sort of read many look for as they deal with shopping, and approaching the new year. I hope it helps many people prioritize what matters to them. It’s a good read, and I purchased it as a gift for a friend (to be gifted as an e-book on Christmas).
Isn’t it a HUGE paradox that SIMPLIFY be chosen by AMAZON as the Kindle deal of the day for CYBER MONDAY?
A minimalism tool and classic to be the «deal of the day» by the main tool of consumerism on THE day of internet consumerism?
Which asks the QUESTION: how much compromise can we accept to tell our countercultural story through the very means and adversary we try to fight? Putting more money in our opponent’s pockets and thus condoning and consolidating its economical and cultural hegemony?
Really Dominique?
I am a fan of Joshua Becker and I am delighted to see the attention for the Kindle book. Wish him all the best in spreading valuable information and inspired lifestyle choices. No knit picking here. No holier than the rest of the world. We all have something to deal with. The world is a consumer based place. Maybe you have graduated, but many of us are still on the journey.
Salut l’ami!
To each his own. Minimalism isn’t an absolute truth, but a relative concept designed by the individual who practices it. I don’t have the complete answers, neither Joshua, but it can helps us think beyond the society’s standards.
To somes, a Kindle can be a tool to remove all physical books. To others, it can be pure evil of consumerism.
To somes, Amazon can be the one-stop shop for best deals (without considerations of the working conditions). To others, it can be the dehumanization of actual societies.
To somes, cyber monday is like a regular day of shopping, just with possible good deals on something they were looking for couple weeks. To others, it can be the representation of losing your soul.
Then, just modelize your life according to your own values.
Some will shop anyways! People who choose to to get this deal on Cyber Monday may not realize yet what are they buying with that book! If change of the lifestyle will happen for many (or some) who have purchased the book, then it’s a huge success for the world! :)
