On Tuesday, January 14th, I will begin the final live version of The Uncluttered Course.
For context, I have been running the Uncluttered Course three times each year for the last nine years and over 83,000 people have used it to declutter their homes and begin living the life they want. But the time is right for me to end the live version of this amazing resource.
It has been an amazing decade. I have talked to many of you whose lives have been radically changed because of it. The course structure and material have resulted in a best-selling book (The Minimalist Home) and have become a Professional Training Course for professional declutterers and organizers around the world who want to implement the strategies in their own practice. The course outline has even formed the foundation for countless other online decluttering courses. I am proud of the good it has brought into the world.
If you have been a reader of Becoming Minimalist for any length of time, you have heard me talk about the course and announce the registration period every time it began (over 27 times now).
If you have been debating whether the 12-week course would be helpful for you in decluttering your home, I can assure you it is. If you’ve tried decluttering on your own through books, videos, or blog posts and just can’t seem to make the progress you want, you are the exact person I designed this course to help.
Consider this your final invitation to join us.
Why I Created the Uncluttered Course Ten Years Ago
When I first started decluttering my own home, I quickly realized the life-changing benefits of owning less and began writing about it on this site. Over time, I discovered that simply talking about minimalism wasn’t enough. Many people needed more than inspiration; they needed practical steps, encouragement, accountability, and a supportive community. That’s why I built the Uncluttered Course.
It was originally launched in 2016 to coincide with the publication of my first book: The More of Less. I wanted to provide a resource that more than talked about the benefits of owning less—but actually provided a structure for people to make it a reality in their home.
But the course has always been about more than decluttering. It is about helping people see the world differently and create lasting change in their lives long after the course ends. It’s not just about decluttering—it’s about reclaiming your life and living forever free from the false promise of looking for happiness in our physical possessions.
What Makes This Course Different
Uncluttered is more than just another online course—and I am proud every time a participant tells me it was far more life-changing than they ever dreamt when they signed up.
Uncluttered is a proven system, honed over nearly a decade, to help you declutter your home, simplify your life, waste less money, refine your life goals, and direct more of your resources towards those values.
The Uncluttered Method has worked for nearly 100,000 people all over the world—and it will work for you, too. Each week builds on the last, guiding you through every lived-in space in your home in a matter of months and fostering lasting habits for a clutter-free life.
You’ll also have lifetime access to all course materials—so you can revisit the content whenever you need a refresher.
What Past Participants Are Saying
The feedback from Uncluttered alumni over the years has been incredible:
“This course changed my life for the better.” —Jennifer T., Peoria IL
“The feeling of ‘less’ in every room, closet, drawer, garage, basement, and attic is indescribable. For the first time in 35 years, I am looking at items I own to see if the need/emotional value is worth the space they take up in my home. Truly eye-opening.” —Kim I., Manasquan, NJ
“This course shifted my beliefs about ‘things,’ therefore it shifted my life. The benefit of changing my mindset was a game changer. Yes, I decluttered and cleared out a ton of unneeded stuff, but the change in my thinking has helped in so many areas of my life.” —Anne G., Painted Post, NY
The Details
The 12-week Uncluttered Course program includes videos, interviews, live webinars, practical articles, weekly challenges, interaction with me, accountability, and a super-engaged community to cheer you on.
Every Monday, you will receive a video from me, an exclusive interview with one of the brightest minds in the simplicity movement, or written content prepared for the course. You will also receive a weekly challenge to complete that is being worked on by everyone else in the course at the same time.
Our private Facebook group is available 24 hours/day for community, encouragement, to discuss challenges, or simply to ask questions aloud.
I host three live webinars during the course and hold weekly Q&A meet-ups where you can ask specific questions about your unique circumstances.
The course begins on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Registration closes on Sunday, January 12 at 11:59 PM PT.
For this final edition of the course, I am returning the price to its original cost: $89 (USD). You can also find a 25% off discount code in the back of my book The Minimalist Home. The book is not required for the course, but it’s usually cheaper to buy the book and use the code than pay full price.
Let’s Get Started
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to start your decluttering journey, there won’t be a better opportunity than this. And if you’ve been debating joining the program this is your last chance.
Let’s make this final chapter of the Uncluttered Course one to remember. I’d be honored to have you join us. We’re all cheering for you to succeed.

Hi, I have the same request. I signed up in 2021 and did not participate at that time due to life things.
I still have access to the course material, but am I able to receive the emails in this live round?
If so, how do I do that please?
Sure. You can sign back up for the course emails by visiting the Course Resources page after logging-in (my.becomingminimalist.com/login). The sign-up form is at the bottom of the page and is available at any point now or in the future for you to jump back in.
Just signed up for the 12 week course starting Jan 14th…I’m a first time attendee for the final live version!
Question about the lifetime access…will I be able to watch recorded webinars and Q&As from previous years/sessions?
I would very much like to register for the uncluttered course beginning January 14,2025. Unfortunately I just saw the post and it’s 1:28pm central time on the 14th. May I still join? If so, please let me know how to do this. I clicked the join button several times and it did not take me to registration.
Hi, I’m interested to know what kind of time commitment the course requires? I see that it runs for 12 weeks but haven’t found info on how long it takes to read and listen to all these resources?
Thank you
Judging from the number in your post, does it mean you made at least five million dollars selling this course?
Not even close.
Does this course help with being overly sentimental about objects? Thanks
That’s an excellent question. It requires a lot of self-discipline for me to admit that I can let an object go. That is, I remind myself that I can retain the memory (a) of the object and (b) of the sentiment behind the object. My skill with all of that specific self-encouragement grows as I practice it, fortunately.
Forgive me if I’ve missed something, but what time(s) and dates are the live webinars, please? I see the first one is 1/14 but don’t see a time/time zone. Thank you.
There is nothing live on 1/14. The material is released each week on Monday mornings. Participants log-in at a time convenient for them to view the material and begin the weekly challenge.
As you mention, there are three live webinars that happen during the course, but even those are recorded and made available immediately afterwards for people who cannot attend the live event. You can find the exact times and dates of those events (Week 3, 7, & 10) about halfway down the course info page: https://my.becomingminimalist.com
Greetings Joshua, I am planning to sign up for the course. In your email you mention a coupon at the back of your book. I am planning to get the audio book on Audible. Is the coupon also available in the audio version, or only hard copies? Thank you in advance for the info.
Hi Joshua! I have paid for and taken your course before. Can I re-take the course for no fee, as you’ve offered in the past? Best, Noonie
Yup, always. Everyone who has ever signed up has lifetime access. As will new people.
Thank you for your life-changing work & generosity!
Will this be the last opportunity to see the course even with a lifetime access?
Will this be the last opportunity to view the course even if one has a lifetime access?
No, everyone who has ever signed up has lifetime access to the course materials.
How do we go about doing that? I have previously purchased it as well and would like to jump back into it. Will we have access to the current live videos or do we need to access the previously recorded videos from when I first purchased it?
I would loved to take this course, however traveling to Australia in January would miss the Live class on the 14th. Would this class be available for review?
Yup, everything is recorded and made available for people who can’t attend the live events. It’s pretty tough coordinating schedules for that many people anyway :)
Hi Joshua! I signed up for the course in 2021 after reading The More of Less. It has helped me tremendously, especially with sentimental items. I am saddened that you won’t be offering the live classes anymore, but understand. Continued blessings to you and your family.
So sorry this is ending Joshua, no doubt you have many things going on in your life, I understand if that is the case. Never got to the live webinars, living in the UK it wasn’t easy. I shall miss you.
Angela
Hello- A question regarding the discount code available with the book. Is the code also available in the Kindle and/or Audible versions of the book as well as the print versions/
Amazon is presently indicating that the print version will not be delivered until after the course registration deadline.
You can find the code in the Kindle version. It is not in the audio version (due to reasons outside my control), but the audio version is fine with me. You’ll just need to send me an email so I can get it to you: support @ becomingminimalist . com
You said this is the last time for live hosting. Will you continue to have 12 week weekly course emails during the year?
Are you a previous participant on the course? If so, yes. You’ll be able to sign up and get them delivered as an automation in the future if you would like.
Hi. If I joined this course from the UK would it then be difficult to access webinars etc ? Unfortunately due to the nature of my job I m unable to join in the middle of the day etc and wasnt sure if the timings will work with the time differences.
I will treasure this final class in that case!!
I have benefitted from each round of Uncluttered since I joined in September 2021, and I appreciate the Facebook group as it gives much-needed encouragement.
This has been a lifeline for me.
I notice my perspective on “things” has really changed. For me the mindset shift has been quite valuable, and even though the physical changes are nowhere near where I’d like to be, I think I have the philosophy down pretty good.
I’m quite a slow learner, so I have needed all these rounds of Uncluttered to make the little physical progress that I have made to date.
I’m kinda sad there won’t be a live class after this, but I feel like the training wheels are coming off, or like my swimming teacher is throwing me in the pool – I’ll figure it out :) I got the basics. Thank you so much.
Diane
Thanks for doing this, Joshua! Isn’t it true that those who have taken the course, can do the live version again? I took it a few years ago and was thinking of doing it again.
Yup. Everyone who has ever signed up has lifetime access to the course website and your log-in will always work. If you’d like to sign back up for the weekly emails, you can do that on the Course Resources page after logging-in to the Uncluttered website.
This course is great!! Worth the time & effort!! I have lifetime access. How do I tap into the course, again? Thanks, Joshua!!
You can sign back up for the course emails by visiting the Course Resources page after logging-in (my.becomingminimalist.com/login). The sign-up form is at the bottom of the page and is available at any point now or in the future for you to jump back in.
Welcome back!
I signed up for this class a year or so ago and was unable to really do it. I think I have lifetime access and would like to join the last class and truly declutter my home. Please let me know if that is possible.
I have the same question as Donna. Would love to join the live class.
I joined quite a few years ago, but wasn’t ready to really take advantage of it. Re-signed up to repeat through the lifetime access a few times, but would have preferred to join the newest group. Are the resources a fresh take for each subsequent group? Is it possible to rejoin to be in your final group, and not be confined to rewatch the older resources?
Hello Wendy, the material does not change from edition to edition. The live webinars vary slightly (because they are live), but cover the same topics as previous editions of the course. Anyone who has ever taken the course still has access to the videos and weekly material. Some people find receiving the weekly emails to be helpful. If you’d like to receive them for this final, live edition, I’d love to welcome you back.
Thanks for replying Joshua. I would love to receive the live weekly emails for this final, live edition.
I need to beat the clutter this time, and move out of my rented flat of over 9 years, so much has happened here to get buried in clutter, time to see what liberation can come with trying clearing out the clutter and getting a fresh start.
Do I also look at the previous emails I have and sign up to be a participant?
I think I was in a FB group from 2019. Been a while, I did sign up a few times to repeat but wasn’t very engaged then.
