Becoming Minimalist

Own less. Live more. Finding minimalism in a world of consumerism.

Things That Matter Coming Soon!

Written by joshua becker · 39 Comments

Here’s my new book: Things That Matter: Overcoming Distraction to Pursue a More Meaningful Life. Available everywhere April 19, 2022.

I have spent the last three years writing the book—conducting research, identifying distractions, interviewing people, and providing practical steps you can take today to live a life focused on things that matter.

In many ways, Things That Matter is a different book than I have ever written. In other ways, it aligns with everything I’ve written over the last 13 years.

Things That Matter is about overcoming the distractions that keep us from living out our true purpose. There is a chapter on possessions, but the book goes much deeper, addressing other cultural distractions such as money, fame, fear, technology, our past, and the opinions of others.

I’ve never worked harder on a book in my entire life and I can’t wait to share the entire thing with you.

But for today, I get to show you the cover. Yay!

Available for pre-order now, wherever books are sold.

I need help getting my family onboard. We need minimalism more than ever, since. I became chronically ill several years ago and have no choice but to leave clutter around our home.
I’ve hired very capable organizers to help.
Of course, I’m no help at all.
Can you give me some tips to making it easier?

Cannot wait. I get tons of email but your content always leaves me pause … and I like your videos, too. Already have your previous book and enrolled in Uncluttered Course. True fan and admirer of your work. Something to aspire in my own life.

This is one of my holiday gifts to myself. Thank you for bringing some perspectives, depth, and meaning. We all need this in our world today!!! More than ever.

Congratulations! I already have “The More of Less” and “The Minimalist Home”, so I am looking forward to this one as well. I’m still working on putting principles into practice, but I have definitely begun the work! So, is there any chance you will be offering signed copies? That would be fun! Thank you for your dedication and hard work.

A gift to the Universe? That’s some pretty high praise. Maybe a bit overstated, but I’ll take it.
