Hello Everybody,
Let’s try something different today and have a little bit of fun.
This past weekend, Becoming Minimalist reached a significant milestone I wanted to share with you.
We officially surpassed 100,000 email subscribers!
That’s a pretty impressive accomplishment worthy of celebration. It means more and more people are being introduced to the life-giving benefits of owning less. And it means our community and our movement continue to grow in significant ways.
Asking people to subscribe via email to receive updates from Becoming Minimalist has never been a huge priority for me. But recently, I’ve begun to change my thinking about that. For starters, there are many readers who appreciate the convenience of receiving an email whenever we publish new posts. I want to make sure readers know that is an option if that’s what they prefer.
Additionally, and equally important, I have just created a 10-day “getting started with minimalism” email sequence to people who subscribe. The sequence includes a PDF copy of my best-selling book, Simplify, as well as first steps people can take on their minimalism journey. It serves as a helpful touchpoint for people who discover the blog, find themselves interested in minimalism, and are ready to start owning less and living more.
If you would like to join the ever-growing email list to receive the free book and email sequence, click here.
For those who have already joined, all 100,000 of you, thank you for being a part of this encouraging community and providing opportunity for this celebratory post.
I’d like to offer a special thank you to everyone who reads Becoming Minimalist. Every month, we welcome over one million unique readers and our Facebook community has now grown to 800,000. These numbers are a credit to each of you who have so generously shared this blog and its articles with friends and family.
Thank you, thank you for supporting Becoming Minimalist and helping to share the inspiration!
To celebrate, I’m giving away 7 book bundles specifically to this community.

On Friday morning, we will use an online Random Number Generator to select the winners and begin contacting them via email. I will also announce the winners on this post.

Here are the seven winners of the prize bundle: Jason R. (Houston, TX); Jen F. (California); Alex (Buffalo, NY); Tara P. (Sunshine Coast, Australia); Dana B. (Unknown); Selina C. (United Kingdom); Christie C. (Black Hills, SD). Each of the winners have been contacted via email to redeem their prize.
On a personal note, I am blown away by the stories that have been left in these comments. I have read as many as possible.
There are stories from readers who have been following this blog from the very beginning and stories of people who just found it last week. There are stories of people finding us through Facebook, through guest posts, through mentions in the media, through conversations with friends, through Netflix, through Google, and countless people who couldn’t remember exactly how they found it. It has been incredibly encouraging to me to read these stories from all over the world.
Thanks for being part of the conversation.

Hi from northern europe (Norway)!
Love your website, I think I first found it by following a link from one of the podcast by The minimalists. I read your book Simplify which you were kind enough to give away also love the fact that the articles are short and to the point.
Try to improve in small increments instead of failing big and so far the amount of clutter is less than it used to be. Thanks!

I am from the United States. I don’t remember how I found this website as it was quite some time ago. I think I followed a link on another website. At any rate, it has been a great source of information on simplifying life.

i am slowly moving in the right direction. I have made a few difficult but cathartic purges, which led me to want more of this feeling. That’s when I came across this website. I am a long ways away from the goal but I am on course. Life has a way of taking over control but the more I minimize distractions the more I gain control and feel the beautiful feeling of contentment.
Thank you for helping me get there:)

Hello, I am from Ontario Canada and searched for you on Facebook after watching your documentary on Netflix. I have been donating items all summer and my home is looking and feeling great. And so am I! My twelve year old daughter has also done some significant purging! Thanks for having this giveaway!

I am from Michigan and I just recently started following. My mom has been telling me about the blog and I have come to love it. I have been living a cluttered and materialistic lifestyle and all it brings is stress. We recently got rid of a ton of items and it feels so good. I look forward to possibly winning and also following the blog going forward.

I am from Neenah, WI and I have been following your blog for so many years, not possible to remember when. You were my first “minimalist guru” and the best I have followed. I have been in your uncluttered course since the beginning and every session helps me get a little closer to my goal. I’ve had my ups and downs the last few years but your weekly emails encourages me as I’m picking up an un-needed, un-wanted item to donate or deposit in trash. Thank you Joshua for being an inspiration.

Melbourne, Australia. I googled you after seeing you on the minimalism documentary. I loved the way you explained what minimalism meant to you and your family. But it was most recently when you shared how you allowed your kids to find their own level of minimalism that really stood out for me.
Starting Your uncluttered course 12 weeks ago changed our life.

I watched The Minimalism movie on netflix and wanted to change my family’s life, so I went searching online. Your blog popped up on the search engine and I read your “start here” post. Once I saw you were from Vermont (where I’m originally from), I knew I had to read on because we were probably raised similarly. We are now a military family, moving every 1-3 years, and it’s not fun to pack up things you never use, move across the country with them and then have to unpack them.
