Hello Everybody,
Let’s try something different today and have a little bit of fun.
This past weekend, Becoming Minimalist reached a significant milestone I wanted to share with you.
We officially surpassed 100,000 email subscribers!
That’s a pretty impressive accomplishment worthy of celebration. It means more and more people are being introduced to the life-giving benefits of owning less. And it means our community and our movement continue to grow in significant ways.
Asking people to subscribe via email to receive updates from Becoming Minimalist has never been a huge priority for me. But recently, I’ve begun to change my thinking about that. For starters, there are many readers who appreciate the convenience of receiving an email whenever we publish new posts. I want to make sure readers know that is an option if that’s what they prefer.
Additionally, and equally important, I have just created a 10-day “getting started with minimalism” email sequence to people who subscribe. The sequence includes a PDF copy of my best-selling book, Simplify, as well as first steps people can take on their minimalism journey. It serves as a helpful touchpoint for people who discover the blog, find themselves interested in minimalism, and are ready to start owning less and living more.
If you would like to join the ever-growing email list to receive the free book and email sequence, click here.
For those who have already joined, all 100,000 of you, thank you for being a part of this encouraging community and providing opportunity for this celebratory post.
I’d like to offer a special thank you to everyone who reads Becoming Minimalist. Every month, we welcome over one million unique readers and our Facebook community has now grown to 800,000. These numbers are a credit to each of you who have so generously shared this blog and its articles with friends and family.
Thank you, thank you for supporting Becoming Minimalist and helping to share the inspiration!
To celebrate, I’m giving away 7 book bundles specifically to this community.

On a personal note, I am blown away by the stories that have been left in these comments. I have read as many as possible.
There are stories from readers who have been following this blog from the very beginning and stories of people who just found it last week. There are stories of people finding us through Facebook, through guest posts, through mentions in the media, through conversations with friends, through Netflix, through Google, and countless people who couldn’t remember exactly how they found it. It has been incredibly encouraging to me to read these stories from all over the world.
Thanks for being part of the conversation.

I have recently retired and find lots of time on my hands, which gave me more time to read and find you on facebook. Three sizes of clothing, aunt’s and uncle’s homes being emptied of memories have made it to my basement. And these are things I have never used and never will. Cleaning out is so rewarding. Giving things away to people that will use them is actually spiritual. My house may float away. Living in Granite City, IL which is right across the river from St. Louis, MO.

I first started minimizing when I needed to use a Walker in my home. Now that I’m wheelchairing it, I find myself getting rid of excess quite easily. Thank you for the encouraging mindset! ❤️❤️❤️

From the beautiful town of Marblehead, MA.
I was watching a video of you on YouTube, and immediately felt an overwhelming sense of calm from your voice and words… It’s hard to explain, but it was both a physical and mental impact. And every time I hear or see you now, it’s still the same. You’ve been so helpful in my journey. Thank you.

Hi! My name is Jean. I am from Wisconsin. I really enjoy your Facebook page and website. I am a busy mom, wife, new grandparent and work full time as an early childhood teacher. You have taught me so many wonderful and useful ways to live life to the fullest. I’ve always been a saver of everything and also have more than one of most things. Yikes! My closets and drawers and basement had lots of stuff. Your helpful ideas and encouraging words have very inspiring to me! This summer I have become a minimalist! Or at least I am trying my best. Donating lots of “stuff” to organizations and friends who will enjoy my stuff has been a blessing. A work in progress! I am feeling so much happier and more calm and content with my daily life. Thanks for sharing your story and giving hope to all! God Bless!

Military family here. Currently living in Colorado. We are relatively new to your community and books, but they have been a great source of motivation for us. We are beginning our own journey. Minimalism and the Military go hand in hand…as we prepare to move again later this year!

It’s been many years since I started reading your work. I found becomingminimalist searching online about minimalism. Living in the Dallas TX area life is fast paced and competitive. I’ve always longed for simplicity. I started my journey with you at the “start” post…not wanting to miss a thing.

I am married, living in a one bedroom apartment in NYC. I found you by doing a google search and immediately got to work.My desk drawers are cleaned out. My refrigerator and kitchen drawer is emptied out. Being an artist, I have a much more select group of paintings on the wall. What I love most about your technique and approach is that its soft. I’ve met some very controlling, cut-throat people who are minimalists but you have kept me feeling safe on this adventure which will be life-long. Thank you.
