Over the past several years, I have been creating inspirational images for the Becoming Minimalist Facebook page. They have circulated amazingly well.
The Becoming Minimalist page has grown from 25K fans in February, 2013 to over 900K today. I’m very grateful for the response and the opportunity it has provided to expand the influence of this blog and the message of minimalism.
While we have created hundreds of pictures over the past two years, the following 10 images consistently rank as readers’ favorites. I wanted to share them with you. And I hope they inspire more simplicity in your life.
I invite you to share these pictures freely on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, or your office cubicle wall. May the inspiration for minimalism continue to grow both in and through our lives.

Thank you for sharing these great photos and inspirational quotes. I started the new year with a promise that I publicly gave that I would not buy anything for a whole year. I am only allowed to purchase food and essentials for the family etc. Absolutely nothing for myself. Not a single item of clothing, shoes, nick nacks, stationery, nothing. I haven’t hit a major shopping centre yet which I know will be hard. It already is with the amount of things “to buy” that hit my email and newsfeed. I decided to do this for many reasons but one of them was to free up my time. Everything that I bring into my home ‘needs’ my attention, whether to put it away, dust, set up, etc. I’m looking forward to the journey. Thank you again for leading the way in this type of thinking.

So Heather, how did the year go? This story popped up in my “On This Day” from a year ago, and I am curious how you did and what you learned.
Best,
jeanne

It took becoming homeless to teach me that. Granted I’d like to get back some of the things I had ( a gainful job, car that’s dependable but not flashy, modest abode, and some of the small things that make life tolerable for me.) but nothing in excess, not again. less is just more simple.

I love your blog. I was truly inspired by your blogs to let go of most of my stuff. Now, I am enjoying a much simpler life traveling in my RV. Is it ok if I put a link to your blog on mine?

I agree completely – My father lived this way – the message echoes deeply within me and inform my perspective of the world. I do not reject either money or the things and cushion it can buy – but almost always the things I yearn for most are not for sale …
