And, if you clean the entire house EXCEPT that one closet. Or the basement. Or the garage. Or the attic, you never get to feel the satisfaction of the whole house being “finished.” If “finished” is even ever really possible in any self improvement endeavor. But it would surely be nice to not have that “one space” left to fixate on!

Any decluttering tips for a person that wants to declutter but psychologically keeps clutter to keep people away and fill a void in my heart?
joshua becker says
Why do you want to keep people away? Especially when they can fill the void in your heart.

The article was great but the picture alone made me exhale so much I started clearing out. Thank you!

I have realised after many years that too much of anthing overehelmes me so less is better,
managing to save stop buying. things i really do not need i have enough.
i no longer bulk buy, i do not need 5 tubes of toothpaste in a cupboard, that might take 18months to use, no let the shops store it all buy when nearly out. this makes you more frugal and not use excessively.
being content is truly a wonderful thing
love Jacqueline

What I like most is that it is easier to clean and tidying up. Without so many things to find a home for, those that we do have for somewhere to go to. Less time cleaning amd tyding up means more time doing what you really want to do amd enjoy.

If love to see an article about minimizing an office space. As a video maker, writer and content creator I feel stressed at the amount of things I have for this. I’ve reduced as much as I can, but it still feels cluttered.

After an unsuccessful attempt to declutter my bedroom yesterday, I woke with firm resolve to achieve today. Joshua’s ‘Do the easy bits first’ was to be my mantra. Last night my daughter, who is moving house interstate for the second time this year, and very good at declutteting, suggested I read ‘The Minimalist Home’ again. After breakfast, I thought I’d check my email just in case this week’s email had arrived and there it was – just the extra inspiration I needed! All very practical, but the hobby room was the one that really spoke to me. There’s a messy bedroom and wardrobe stopping me from enjoying my sewing and art. Wish me luck!

Best of luck!

If all your cupboards are not full, you have room to store an extra package of toilet paper, or four bars of soap. Since you are able to live smaller, your utility bills are less.
We had an extra room. We have empty shelves. I find art and craft projects that use what I have. Collage, colored pencils, ink and water colors are what I use. I gave my neighbor some used canvases and she will use oils on them.

I’d like to hear more on this topic off art, maybe interviews with artists. I always remember my photography instructor saying “as you grow as a photographer, your equipment has to grow with you”
Arts & Craft Room Benefits
More joy while doing your hobby.
Less guilt about unused supplies.
Better art.

Great reminder of the many benefits of minimalism! In addition, I believe owning less makes one more likely to be grateful for what one does have. There’s so much more to life than one’s possessions. I love how you laid out the benefits by room!

I love living simply and having a condo without clutter. Not only is it easier to clean, it gives my cats lots of running space. I can find toys so much easier when they get lost under furniture. Good for me and good for the kitties too.

What a dreAm …we can not afford such luxury at this tiMMe…so I am putting myself into cleaning and tossing all night to get rid of the “Clutters”.
No one to l4end a hand in my area, only if charged a fee. The worse of all is that to clear up are heavy stuffs.
it will definitely be aplus to get those all out. So Happy for your Kitties and your downsizing!
